I am so excited about my birthday party tonight. We're going into the outer city for tasty Japanese food prepared in front of us. A place called Benihana's. Then we're taking a three hour limousine ride into the city. Stopping by Pier 39 and Macy's for coffee and cheesecake before seeing all the tourist sites. We have a large cooler full of feel good beverages. Some of us are allergic to complimentary champagne. The limo ride wasn't mentioned in the birthday invitation sent out two weeks ago. I only wanted my real, true friends to celebrate my 40th birthday with me. The ones who didn't blink when the invitation said for everyone to meet at the upscale Japanese restaurant with valet parking, providing their own means of transportation. Friendly flake friends called in their usual apologies and excuses at the last minute. Four of my closest friends will be there tonight with me. And we're going to party like it's 1999 all over again.
