February 25, 2007 - 11:59 a.m. Eddie's father died this morning. He was over 80 years old. There is going to be a police motorcade and honor guard at the funeral. His father will be given a military burial. He served in the Army for many years. Eddie brought his father home this morning to leave this earth in peace. When I reach that time, I would like to be placed in a rocking chair in front of the pellet stove. With a quilt wrapped around me. And my favorite music playing on the stereo. Yes, that would be a great way to pass. I purchased a scooter recently. What a blast to ride. Twist and go. Makes me feel free and metropolitan. I found a helicopter helmet on Craigslist to match my scooter. Flip up the tinted visor and I can see the busy world when stopped. Smell the cherry blossoms & coffee brewing down the street. Flowers in bloom. Life is too short for second guessing, second thoughts or regrets. If something materializes with Vance, or Eddie becomes a friend with benefits, so be it. Naomi may be getting a new job as a loan officer. No one has been as dedicated and loyal. I've given up on Diamond. She will never allow me to see the real person behind the mask. And I have grown tired of looking at her reflection. Memories of her outnumber future dreams. ~ Soldier Girl
