I suppose I come across in this online journal as a heavy duty narcissist. It sure sounds that way, especially the entry I made last night. I like aging gracefully. However, I use Rogaine on my thinning hair. Just trying to keep alive the few follicles that remain. It's not that I detest wrinkles and crows feet; they serve as daily reminders the clock is ticking... what am I doing with my life. I've found out the hard way people want relationships on their own terms. You lay it on the line and speak the truth about availability, current status, whatever. If you're not visually/financially perfect, have relationship baggage, the quality ones will move on. I guess that's why most people SAY NOTHING until you fall in love with them. At that point, a pile of skeletons drop out of the closet. I usually drag them out myself before the first date. Why scare someone after they develop feelings for you.
I still see the beautiful woman of a decade ago. Age lines are there but it doesn't make the canvas any less spectacular. Bank accounts are important if you plan on living with someone. Otherwise, you're not expected to pay their bills, run their life. Next time, I'll think twice before I move in with someone. I'm such a dork when it comes to protecting oneself. I keep learning the hard way.
